About

Professor Thomas Modine graduated from Lille University Hospital, France. He has an MD, Ph.D and MBA degrees. He is a renowned surgeon in transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR), minimally invasive surgery and valve sparing techniques.

He is also involved in basic science research programs and is developing a percutaneous mitral program with IP. From January 2004 to January 2006, Dr. Modine completed a Ph.D thesis. Later he dedicated his training to the development and progress of percutaneous techniques and heart team approach. His research interests are in aortic valve complex, bioengineering, beating heart surgery, hybrid approaches, TAVR, transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement (TTVR) and TMVR. Both basic and clinical aspects of research experiences are studied. Currently, he is appointed as a Professor of cardiovascular surgery at Bordeaux university Hospital and Professor at Jiao Tong University in Shanghai, China.

He is the Director of Valve disease structural therapies in Bordeaux.”
